18th May - Benfit Cheats!!!
In any other walk of life the MPs would have been dismissed and some of them would be in jail! Same applies to a lot of the bankers. Why oh why do we allow them to get away with it?
22nd February - I could spend all dayand every day writng comments about our 'leaders.' I'm reading Dicken's Little Dorrit. In a 150 years none of the attitudes have changed in parliament, despite women being admmitted. They still live in a world which they intend keeping as their own.
2nd February - "British Jobs for British Workers". Like all politicians he was telling the TUC what they wanted to hear. Well it's come home to ridicule him. What a pethetic figure Brown is becoming. There are precious few British companies left to give British workers jobs to. It's Brown who's contracted out of EU social legialation which would have prevented this situation.
I like the new recommendations for bringing up children to be published soon.
There are so many things to comment on I could be here writing for the rest of my life.
Found out today that whilst Brown is proposing to make Parliament and the 'Execctive' more open and accountable he's increasing the powers of the Privy Council, which surprise surprise can do anything it wants in the Queen's prerogative without being accountable to the voters or parliament!
22nd January - More on Gaza- Sad that Obama didn't mention Gaza but it could be understandable, however, how he leads the Unites States in the Middle East will define whether he is the saviour of the world or not.
It's time to arrest all the bankers, confiscate their assets and give them to the unemployed. Nationalise the banks and get Britain moving again before it's too late.
18th January - Sir Jeremy Greenstock, a former Britisn ambassador to the UN, writing in the Guardian on the 16th points out that Hamas " ... has no deep-routed argument with the west or Christianity, no political alliance with Tehran or Hezbollah, no respect for al-Quida, and no "charter" for the destruction of Isreal in its political programme - just wants the Isreaeli occupation to end. ... If the border crossings had been opened in autumn of 2008, as Israel had agreed to as part of last year's ceasefire terms, the rockets on Israeli towns would have stopped, the image of Gaza as a prison would have evaporated ... "

Well done David Davis, hope you are sincere.
Read during the week that David Blunkett didn't believe in any of the things he did when in power! How sick is that, what's thuse of being in power to do things you don't believe in? In his case the opposite of what he believes in!
Can't undersand Brown, he seems determined to do stupid unnecessary things 42 day, identity cards for example. The media are succefully assasinating him with his help.

Ken Livingston said on TV this week that the civil servants can't negotiate with private industry. I agree with him. The civil servants don't have the skills and are being hoodwinked al the time but it's us that's paying.
Criminal Justice on BBC1 last week but one. Anything but the truth. I hate our legal system. Operates to the letter of the law and not the spirit but if the programme Criminal Justice is anything like real life our legal proffession is sick as is parliamnet as they are mostly lawyers etc.
1st June 2008 - My 70th birthday
All the media and Blair's friends are conducting a determined campaign to unseat Gordon Brown and the Labour Party.
Brown has supported Blair for many years so I've no real love for him but perhaps he's not so bad after all. The establishment are afraid of him? Just like they destroyed Michael Foot many years ago.
More enlightened socialism is what we need, we being the vast majority of the people.  Labour should be explaining the need for taxes not vainly trying to appease people and give them what the media tells them they want.
At the moment the people don't want socialism because they don't understand what it is.

At least Brown should be himself and stand up for what he believes in and abandon his false 'public' image, probably being cultiveated by ex-Blair cabinet ministers and friends.

Taxes: Taxes and services are on opposite sides of the equation.  If you want lower taxes you must expect lower services. Governemnt should explain this simple mesage and explain where all the money raised in taxes goes.
I would cut back on troops abroad - bring them home and get them working to improve this country as part of their training. Every youth should have a gap year, not just the rich ones. They should do national service, i.e. spend a year working on community projects, learn how all groups live.
I would introduce a 50p tax on all monies earned/gained over £100,000 per year.

I would cancel the Trident replacement programme and run down our nuclear deterant.

2nd May 2008
Now is the time for the Goverment to introduce proportional representation!
